Privacy policy
This privacy policy is a working draft shared for transparency. It has not completed legal review and is not yet in effect. The final version will be published here before the beta opens.
Our approach
We collect what we need to run your companion, never sell your data, and never use your conversations to train AI models. Ellomii is for adults only (18+); we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
What we collect
Account: your email address, or your Google account name and email if you choose "Continue with Google". We also record that you confirmed you are 18+ and understand companions are AI.
Your answers: what you tell us in onboarding, such as the name you go by, country, time zone, chat language, interests and how you like replies.
Conversations: the messages you send and the replies you receive, so your chats are there on every device.
Memory notes: short notes your companions keep from your chats, like "has a sister called Sara", so they remember you the way a friend would. Sensitive topics such as health, beliefs, sexuality or money troubles are not saved. You can see and delete every note in Moments.
Credits and purchases: your balance and what you spent it on. Payments on the website are handled by Stripe; we receive the amount and whether it was paid or refunded, never your card details.
Reports: if you report a reply, we keep that message and your reason so we can review it.
Notifications: if you turn them on, we keep a push token for your phone or browser so we can send them. You can switch them off any time, and choose to hide the message text.
Technical data: sign-in sessions (which device, when), and server logs of requests and errors. Logs never include the content of your messages.
How we use it
To run your account, write your companions’ replies in your language and style, remember what matters to you, tell you when a reply arrives, send check-ins if you asked for them, keep track of credits, keep the service safe, and answer you when you contact us. We do not use it for advertising and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Who helps us run Ellomii
Anthropic: its AI models write the replies and the memory notes. It receives your recent messages, your onboarding answers and memory notes for each reply, under commercial terms that do not allow it to train its models on them.
Stripe: processes payments for credit packs on the website.
Resend: sends your sign-in codes by email.
Expo (with Apple and Google) and your browser’s push service: deliver notifications to your phone or browser.
Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Cloudflare: hosts the website.
Our cloud server host: stores the database (the final policy names the provider and where data is stored).
Who at Ellomii can see what
A small number of authorised staff can see account details, credit history and payments to run the service and help you. They cannot read your chats. The only exception is a message you report, which we review to act on the report. Every staff action is recorded in an audit log.
How long we keep it
Your account, answers, chats, memory notes and credits: until you delete them or your account.
Memory notes: the newest 200; older ones are removed automatically.
Sign-in codes: expire after 10 minutes. Sessions end after 30 days or when you sign out.
Payment records: kept for as long as tax law requires, with your name and email removed when you delete your account.
Your controls
See and delete memory notes one by one, or all at once, in Moments.
Notifications: on or off for each device, with or without the message text.
Check-ins stay off unless you turn them on. You choose how often and your quiet hours, and they pause after two you haven’t answered.
Delete your account at any time in the app (Profile, Delete account) or at ellomii.com/delete-account. It happens straight away.
Ask for a copy of your data, or for something to be corrected, through the Contact page.
Coming later
Voice and video calls, voice notes and photos are not available yet. Before they launch, this policy will explain how voice and camera are handled.
